The Gemeinschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure in Deutschland e.V. originated from the club Gesellschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V., which was firstly registered in 1988 in Karsruhe. The development of GCCCD has experienced the following stages:

• 1988-1999: 12 annual conferences were held. 9 presidents were selected, but only 4 of them were registered at the local court of Karsruhe.
• 1999-2004: 4 annual conferences were held. 3 presidents were selected, but none of them was registed at the court.
• 2005-2012: The Chinese name of the club was changed. 7 annual conferences were held. 4 presidents were selected, however none of them was able to register at the local court of Karsruhe due to the missing of legal documents.
• 2012-2013: In order to regain the possibility to act officially as a registered club with all advantages the club Gesellschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V. was registered under VR 17428 at the local court in Cologne.
• July 2014: The new name of the club Gemeinschaft Chinesischer Chemiker und Chemieingenieure in Deutschland e.V. was registered at the court in Cologne under VR 17428.
